Your #1 Source for Car Buying Tips & Advice
The dealership I work for just made an $8,200 profit on its last car deal!!!  Don't let this happen to you...I'll show you how to knock 'em down & drag 'em out!

STOP!!!

If you take only one thing from this site...it's got to be my simple 11 step article, below, on how to prepare yourself for your upcoming purchase.  If you don't read it, that's fine, but the car dealerships will beat you!

The #1 Car Buying Tip of All Time

Be Prepared! "Well that's not so special," you say. You're right, it's not rocket science, but how do you prepare? I'll show you in just a second. First off I want to share with you some research I've done at the dealership I work for. I've tracked the last 75 deals that have been made here and found that prepared and educated buyer's (prepared in my opinion) paid over $3,100 less than the unprepared and uneducated buyers.

If savings of $3,100 or more doesn't peak your interest, then I don't know what will. Keep in mind that car dealership sales people are professionals, and sell cars everyday; they are prepared and educated. On the other hand your average consumer certainly doesn't buy cars everyday and is therefore unprepared and uneducated. So a consumer walking into a car dealership unprepared to buy a car is at a huge disadvantage.

Here are some simple steps for you to prepare:

1) Start Shopping Online.
Research car prices, print invoices and find the perfect vehicle for you. Get quotes from CarsDirect or Yahoo! Autos, or Edmunds

2). Know Your Credit.
Know your score and review your credit file. Clean up any inaccuracies and/or delinquent accounts. A high APR adds up to a lot of wasted money over the term of a loan. Go to Fico Scores/Reports to know your credit now!

3) Get Pre-Approved For Your Car Loan.
Car Dealers make huge profits when they arrange financing. Pre-Approval gives you the power to "Buy Like A Cash Buyer." Good credit Click Here Middle of the road credit Click Here Bad Credit/No Credit Click Here they are all Fast, Free & Easy!

4) Know Insurance Costs.
This gets a lot of people into trouble after the fact. They take on a new car payment and find out their insurance rates are also going to go up. Save money and get an Auto insurance quotes from Esurance

5) Know A Car Dealerships Steps To The Sale.
Read my 11 Steps To A Car Sale-They Hope!

6) Know Your Trade Ins Value.
A dealership can under allow for your trade in and boost their profits. Check sites like Kelley Blue Book and NADA.

7) Know What Warranties Cost.
Marking up warranty costs is a big profit center for car dealerships. Check out the extended warranties that I offer.  They have been in business for 28 years, are backed by an A-(excellent) AM Best rated insurer (a Bank of America co.), offer a 0% payment plan and you avoid the huge dealership mark ups.  Learn more here Extended Auto Warranties.

8) Get All Promises In Writing
.

Don't accept verbal promises, more often than not you'll get burned.

9) Review Your Contract Carefully.
Slow down and understand all the figures. Bring reading glasses, if you need them.

10) Compile Your Information.
Bring a copy of your loan approval, invoice printouts, trade in values, and to really chap their hides, bring a financial calculator and use it when negotiating.

11) Talk To Me Throughout The Process.
That's what this site was made for and what makes it so unique.  I will essentially walk with you through the entire process.  I don't know where else, on the Internet, you can talk directly to someone with close to nine years experience, that's been a part of thousands of car deals, is currently in the car business and is totally on your side.  Let's chat Blog.

I can't thank you enough!  I was on a very tight budget, raising three kids as a single mom, and needed some help.  The last thing I could afford to do was get stuck paying way too much for a car.

I think I found your site before it was really even completely put together, but I emailed you and you were very helpful.  I thank you sooooo much!  You saved me a lot of stress, time and money.

The money you saved me translated into $66 a month savings in monthly payments, and I can't begin to tell you how much that helped me and my family.

Thank you and God Bless!

Articles

The Car Buying Tips & Bad Credit Repair Tips articles that I've written will provide you with an insiders view point of different aspects of the car business and in some of them I get pretty involved, telling some deep dark secrets that I'm sure will ruffle some car dealers feathers.  These articles will give you some great car buying tips and information on how to avoid car dealer scams.

Between the articles I've written and the Blog you're going to find information that I have not seen anywhere online and some of it may really turn your head.  I will try to add new articles often.

Ask the Expert

The Blog is what the whole site was built around.  This is where I "Tell All."  I think a lot of you will really enjoy my posts from our big sales events.  I'll tell you the profits the dealer is making and you'll be quite surprised when I report 6, 7 and $8000 deals.  If you want to be the one paying $8000 over cost for a vehicle, then close your browser now, don't ever come back to my site, stroll on down to your local dealership, and trust me, they'll take care of you!

If you don't want to be the one that pays $8000 over cost for a vehicle then don't turn off your computer, stay on my site, listen to my advice, and ask me questions here "Ask the Expert."  I have no problem sharing everything I know, so ask away...

I hate buying cars.  All the games and never knowing if I'm getting scammed.  Thanks dude.  I really appreciate your site and the tip you gave me about negotiating with, as you put it "a broken leg"!

I will definitely let my family and friends know about your site, because if you can make buying a car this easy for me, you can work wonders with my sister.  Ha Ha!

Thanks,

Most consumers associate shopping at an Auto Mall or any Car Dealership for that matter, with an adventure.

For some of you the idea of an adventure is somewhere along the lines of the movie Goonies, where there is fun and excitement at every turn and ends with you and a boat load of cash.  Unfortunately, it's a totally different story when it comes time to buy a car.

Your adventure begins with driving to a dealership, meeting a car salesman, meeting the salesman's sales manager, meeting the  sales managers general sales manager, meeting the general sales managers general manager, meeting the owner, and finally ending up with a finance manager to finalize your paperwork, on a vehicle you may not want and you probably over paid for.

Whew...that's a lot to buy a car.  All along they'd like you to think they have your best intentions at heart, but all they can think of is how to spend your (now theirs) hard earned money they just made from you.

Cha Ching!!! Congratulations on your new car Mr. and Mrs. Smith!  Have a nice life, because you'll be making payments on that new car for the rest of it...

If that scenario sounds like your idea of a good time, then I guess you don't need my help.  Just drive on down to your local Auto Mega Mall and the rest will take care of itself.

Now, on the flip side, if you'd like to spend as little time at the car dealership as possible, know what you're willing to pay for the vehicle, know what to expect for your cars trade in value, know what to expect for monthly car payments, and know what tricks they may try to pull on you, then you've come to the right place.

Here at Insider Car Buying Tips you will read car buying tips, bad credit repair tips & auto loan refinance tips that I've written, no ghost writers here (pardon the typos), be able to chat with me directly and ask questions that pertain specifically to your car buying situation.

Now I know there are lots of places online to get information about car buying tips, and car buying advice, but who is really giving you that car buying advice?  For instance, there is another big site online that claims to give car buying tips and the owner claims to be an expert in this field, although, he's an Engineer by trade and also has a Bridal Tips website he claims to be an expert on as well.  Hmmm.  He must get around!

I hope you enjoy the site and are able to gain some insight about car buying, car dealer tactics and car dealer scams.  I'm always open to suggestions, so if you find something about the site you think would help others better (layout, information, etc.), please let me know.  After all this site is for you the consumer.

Take care and beware,
J the Car Guy

After my husband passed away, I was looking for help buying a car, not so much to save money, but more because I had no idea how the process worked.  My husband always handled those things.

I am very fortunate to have a Grandson that had seen your site and showed me how to get here.  I'm very happy I found you.  You were so helpful, and even though you did help me save a lot of money you more importantly saved me stress, that I was dreading, and showed me an easy way to buy a car, giving me peace of mind.

I'm not very good with the internet, but I will certainly tell those in my community about your site.
